What we collect
Two things given directly by you when you follow something, plus one resolved automatically:
- Your email address
- What you asked to follow (an artist, label, genre, or keyword)
- Your country, resolved from your IP address at the moment you follow something — the IP address itself is never stored. We only ever know "this subscriber signed up from Australia", never a specific address or location.
We never ask for a password. Following works entirely by email confirmation — there's no account to create, and nothing else about you is collected alongside it (no name, no precise location, no payment details; buying anything happens entirely on the retailer's own site).
Why we collect it
Solely to send you an email when a release matching what you follow opens for presale or goes on sale. That's the only purpose your email address is used for.
How long we keep it
Until you unsubscribe. Every alert email includes a link to manage or remove what you follow, or unsubscribe entirely — doing so deletes your email address, your follows, and your alert history immediately and completely, not just marks them inactive.
Who else sees it
Nobody we sell or share it with, ever. Your email address is only ever passed to Resend, the service we use to actually deliver alert emails — they process it solely to send that email on our behalf, the same way any email provider handles the address you're sending to.
We use privacy-respecting analytics to see aggregate visitor counts and which sites send us traffic — it doesn't use cookies, doesn't track individuals, and doesn't collect anything that identifies you personally. We don't run ad tracking. The only cookie WaxStack itself sets is a small functional one used to show you a confirmation message right after you follow something — it isn't used to track you, and carries no personal data on its own.
Where this applies
Your choices
Unsubscribe or edit your follows any time via the link in any alert email — no login required. If you can't find that link, or have any other request about your data, contact us directly.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date above. We won't quietly change what we collect or how it's used without reflecting it here.
